During the dark of the year, my mind comes alive with stories. The upheaval of moving across country has been disruptive in many ways, but my creativity has probably suffered the most. Now that summer is over — and the cold weather is blowing in — I’ll be staying home and putting pen to paper (literally). If you’re not the sort of writer who can handle the stress of NaNoWriMo, please join me for Note-Vember (Notebook November) and write a pressure-free first draft at your own pace. Wanna know the best part? No staring at screens, and no word counts! I may even try writing by candle-light to indulge my inner Jo March ;-)
Which leads me to my next announcement…
I’ll be taking a break from this newsletter to focus on my fiction, but that doesn’t mean you won’t hear from me anymore. I created a new section (The Literature Club), where I’ll be sending out classic novels, short stories, and poetry. And since Christmas is right around the corner, I’ve chosen the holiday classic, LITTLE WOMEN, as our first title! An email with all the details will be sent to you on Monday. Until then, I hope you had a wonderful full moon. It was a gorgeous night in Downeast Maine! (Email readers: Click to view all photos)
If you know any fellow writers or Little Women fans, please share this post so they can join the fun. Thank you!
Oooh, I love this. Great idea! I might try it for a short story I'm thinking about writing. And, I just bought a notebook I'm excited about using! Good luck with your writing.
Best of luck with your draft! Quiet time with a notebook sounds like a lovely way to spend these darker autumn evenings.
